Short Film

This is the successful Kickstarter campaign video that I produced in 2015 which subsequently helped us to raise £12,250 to go into production on a short film that I am the producer and director of photography for. Magpie is a film set during WWII and follows the difficulties a couple face as they are torn apart by the war. The film deals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, an anxiety disorder that is well-known nowadays but something that wasn’t a recognised condition post-war. The film is written and directed by Carmel Hannant.

Liberation ’44 is a short film I wrote and directed in February 2011. It was my first proper short film project after leaving UEA in the previous summer. Myself and James Gorman shot this for the 2011 Short Film Competition for which the film was shortlisted to the final twelve.

The Profit is a short sci-fi film starring Tina Baston as a scientist in the midst of a world-changing discovery… but will it corrupt even the most well-intentioned pioneer? The Profit was an entry to the 2011 Virgin Media Shorts that I helped to shoot for director Ross Turner along with James Gorman, Daniel Wood and Rebecca Vaughn.

Success is Relative was written by Thomas Mould and myself for the Short Film Competition 2014. It starred Tom Bonington, Andromeda Godfrey, Carmel Hannant, Matt Downton & Lucas Rushby. It made the top 50 long list of the competition out of 500+ Entries.

Florence is a short documentary-style film made from extra footage I shot whilst working for Hard Rock Florence in September 2012. Whilst I usually work on narrative short film it was a fresh challenge to put something together about a place and try to create a loose story out of the footage I had.

Boss Boot Camp was our entry to the 2012 Short Film competition, themed ‘The Boss’, written and directed by myself and Matt Downton. It was produced along with regular collaborators Lightmill Films and successfully made the final twelve shortlist in the final of the competition.
